Fathers Day

Father’s day was actually 2 weeks ago, but have just got round to getting the photo’s off the camera!

We went to Whiteman Park which is about half an hours drive inland from Craigie. It seems a lot of other people had the same idea as it was really busy (I’d hate to see it in the summer). We took our picnic of sandwiches, crisps, juice etc and sat on a couple of towels we had brought from the house. Talk about feeling like the poor relations! People around us were all set up with their fold-up chairs, picnic tables, cool boxes full of food, bbq’s, beer, wine etc – true professionals!

The park itself is really good, we’ll probably go back there a few times over the summer weekends. There’s a decent sized play area that is mostly in the shade, which is good. There’s also a train that runs round the park, a motor museum, Wildlife Park, cafes and shops. And there’s also plenty of picnic shelters (if you’re early enough) and public bbq’s that you can use.
