Joe's Works Kids Christmas Party

This was a good day out, we had paid $50 (about £20) for the four of us, and this included burger & chips, ice cream and a drink for all of us. Also, unlimited turns on any of the rides which meant the kids could go on and off things as often as they pleased. We did have a visit from Santa but there was a bit of a queue and the kids were just getting sweets, so, as our two were more interested in getting on the rides, we gave him a miss this time. Ryan had his first turn on the dodgems and loved it (Liam was too small).

All in all a good day out!!

More Pagent Pics

Perth's Christmas Pagent

The Christmas pagent was great. So much work went into all the floats and the people involved all looked as though they were having a ball. The kids loved it, and the pictures really don't do it justice.

Ryan & Liam's Birthday Party

Some pictures from the boys birthday party at Go Bananas. It is a big soft play centre very similar to the ones we have at home like Fun Station and Big Adventure.

The kids had 7 friends each and everyone seemed to have fun and I had no hassle which was even better.

As you can see I went all out on making the boys cake, NOT!!!!

Liam's Birthday

Liam in his new birthday clothes from Gran & Papa (always the poser)

Yipee - Stuff Finally arrives 13/12/06

Look at the mess. At this point i was wishing our stuff had stayed on the boat. Including the little Gnome in the first picture!!!!! Only taken 4months and 2 weeks!!!

Ryan's School Christmas Concert

This is Ryan's school concert. He was the 'tallest tree' and a sparkling star.

Liam's Playgroup Christmas Party

This was Liam's 1st Xmas party in Oz. They had a magician, and Liam got a balloon fishing rod made for him because his birthday is in December. Santa came to visit and handed out lollies (sweeties) to the kids. Liam had fun on the bouncy castles outside and we all felt that for $1 (about 40p) it was good and all the kids seemed to enjoy it (we do pay annual fees so some of that will go towards it too). Still really wierd all this xmas stuff in the heat!!!

Whiteman Park

Whiteman Park is a hugh park about 20mins inland from us. They have a railway with old steam trains and trams going round the park. There is a wildlife centre, which we have yet to visit, along with other museums and gift shops. They also have this great splash pool. It is only about knee deep, and completely enclosed so the kids are relatively safe, they think it is fab!! It is one of those places where everyone gets wet whether you want to or not!

Hillary's Beach

Some snaps of the boys swimming in the sea at Hillary's Beach.

Start of Oz Summer Time

This was at Hillary's beach Harbour. We went for dinner about 6pm and then stayed to watch the fireworks. The palce was absolutely mobbed. People were there with their chairs, tables, gazebos etc. Some looked as if they were there for the night. Liam wasn't very keen. He was sick in the cafe where we were watching them from. I don't know if it was nerves, too much salt water from earlier in the day or too rich choc ice cream after dinner. But nevertheless he spent the entire fireworks with his hands over his ears and his head buried in Joe's chest.

Some more photos of the air race, and well I guess everyone found it an exhausting day! Posted by Picasa

Red Bull Air Race 2006

The Red Bull Air Race was a really good out. The race itself was over two hours and really quite exciting. It was amazing how low the planes actually went. We were sitting on the bank just back from the beach, and the kids and me had to stand on the railings to see some of the action. The bomber was shown on a big screen which we were sitting close to so that helped to let us see. The guy who won the race as a real charismatic character and palyed to the crowd. There was a hugh cheer when he came in with a flying 2nd round to win the Perth leg of the championship, it was the American piolit who won the overall world chaampionship.

The race has been all over the world and did have a UK leg which was held at Longleat. However the Sunday racing had to be cancelled due to poor weather. No such problems here!

It was very well supported with a crowd of about 350000 there. It will be back next year so we might go again, but try to get there a bit earlier, apparently about 7am, to get a reasonable spot, (the race dosen't start till 12pm) Posted by Picasa

Ryan's School Disco

Ryan had his school disco and sausage sizzle last week. It was in the undercover area at the school. The kids all seemed to have a good time. The girl's Ryan is playing with are Rebekah, who we used to live next door to in Craigie, and Chole, another little girl in his class. I guess he like the ladies!!! Posted by Picasa
